Monday 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.
Friday 7:45 - 9:15 a.m.
Classes are held at Maui Yoga Loft and Wellness in Kihei, on the island's south side. Students of all levels, abilities, ages and conditions are warmly welcome. No prior yoga experience is required and studio mat use is complimentary.

what to expect in my classes
To start, I'll ask you about any areas of interest or concern so I can tailor the class elements to meet your needs. Practice usually begins lying down, with a few minutes to center in to body, mind, and breath. This is followed by easy joint mobilizations, gentle core "wake up", and a transition to simple standing postures where we incorporate some larger, whole-body movements for warm-up. Transitioning back to the floor, we move in to a supine series for hips/twisting/legs depending on the day. One or two simple seated postures conclude the movement, after which there is time for breathing practice, contemplation and rest. I sometimes include a mantra or another little dash of sound if it seems appropriate.
Class pace is leisurely, with all movements synchronized to slow, deep breathing. Most students report a calming, soothing effect in body and mind from the practice. A combination of safe movements and gently held postures maximizes benefit while minimizing structural risk. Often creative adaptations and variations are used, so this class can be interesting for the experienced practitioner wanting something gentle, as well as being a perfect choice for beginners and those with injuries or limitations.
